EFDC officers are facing new challenges and are having to diversify to ensure that essential services are covered when colleagues may be unwell or self isolating.

The Waste Service is running as normal, there has seen a significant increase in Food and Garden Waste since the lockdown and better weather;

Please see attached an updated list of recycling sack outlets.

EFDC have suspended their MOT service for members of the public and all booked public MOTs have been cancelled.

Taxi MOTs’ and taxi inspections will still be carried out.

All Leisure Centres are closed.

Epping Sports Centre will be used as distribution sites to support the most vulnerable residents as part of Project Shield

Car Parking – NEPP have relaxed on-street enforcement. Council owned car parks still operating, light touch enforcement with free parking for NHS Staff

Residents are asking why the team can be seen out and about, this is because the team is grass and hedge/verge cutting so that vital open spaces remain accessible for residents to exercise and to make sure that sight lines for our road networks remain safe for essential services, key workers and to keep the district moving for our volunteers to be able to deliver vital supplies to our vulnerable residents.

From 01/04/2020 the service transferred from ECC to EFDC,  there is no change to the current process for requested for works to be carried out by the Highway Rangers,  requests for the service should be made by email to highway.enquirieswest@essex.gov.uk  with HIGHWAY RANGERS in caps written in the Subject box.

The Essex Police, Fire and Crime Panel is currently in the process of recruiting two Independent Members to work alongside its elected councillors.

The notification of decisions taken by individual Portfolio Holders is no longer included in the Council Bulletin.

All members of the Council receive automatic email notification of the publication of each individual Portfolio Holder decision and the call-in period for each decision commences immediately. Members wishing to call-in a decision should complete the attached call-in form and return it to Democratic Services before the expiry of five working days following the publication date of the decision. Members should refer to the Constitution (Article 6 - Overview and Scrutiny) for the rules of call-in.
